We have an exciting opportunity for an Accounts Assistant to join our Finance team here in Huntingdon.

The Role:

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Accounts Assistant to join our Finance Team based in Huntingdon, Cambridgeshire.

Reporting to the Finance Team Manager, the Assistant Accountant will be an engaging communicator responsible for daily, weekly, and monthly financial reporting tasks to support the business.


Responsibilities:


  • Liaising with Internal HR to collate and prepare the internal company payroll for submission to Parent company for processing every month.
  • Managing our employee expense process to include coding, posting, obtaining authorisation and checking of supporting receipts submitted via payroll.
  • Management of company pension scheme including monthly submissions.
  • Monthly payroll reporting to include variances to budget and reconciliation to Trial balance.
  • Managing purchase ledger to include coding, posting and authorisation of invoices. Weekly payment runs, liaison with Suppliers for query resolution, reconciliation to Trial Balance and adhoc reporting.
  • Managing our company credit card expenses to include coding, posting and checking of supporting receipts and reconciliation back to statements.
  • Support in credit control including customer communication, reconciliations and query resolution.

What will it take to be successful?

  • Previous experience in a finance role
  • Demonstratable experience and proficiency with MS Excel to include formulas
  • Inquisitive, attention to detail and a problemsolving outlook is key
  • An engaging communicator at all levels
  • Actively studying towards a finance qualification, AAT preferable
  • Payroll experience preferable, but not essential as full training will be given
