Our therapy assistants are the backbone of the core therapy department, without them we just couldn't function We're excited to be adding to our Burns and Plastics team and are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated band 2 Therapy Assistant to join our team.

Your passion for delivering excellent patient care will be undeniable and you will feel fulfilled in your work knowing you are making a difference to patients.

Your effective communication and interpersonal skills will mean you can easily build rapport with patients and staff alike.

You will be able to effectively gather patient pre-admission history and provide empathy and support during what may be a very challenging time in their life.

You will also pride yourself on your organisational skills, supporting with the administrative duties of the team to make sure the service runs smoothly and efficiently.


The close integration between our Physiotherapists and Occupational Therapists allows for a dynamic and supportive working environment and your colleagues will always be on hand to support you.


The role of a Therapy Assistant will offer you lots of variety, working both in a team and autonomously with patients from all different backgrounds.


You will work closely with in-patients on the burns and plastics ward and this necessitates a sensitive, caring and compassionate approach.

A large proportion of the job involves the moving and handling of patients and therefore at times it can be physically demanding.


There are also administrative duties to the role, therefore basic skills within information technology are desirable as well as excellent organisational skills.


This is a teaching hospital, and as such there is a positive and supportive culture which promotes learning and development.

There is an established in-house training programme for all mandatory clinical skills, and potential for wider learning opportunities to help you develop in your career.

All staff are supported with regular supervision from a senior team member.

Duties to include but not be limited to:

  • To communicate and collaborate with all Core Therapy Service stakeholders.
  • To support personal and people development.
  • To help to ensure the health, safety and security of users of the Core Therapy Service, self and colleagues.
  • To support service development and planning.
  • To support the Clinical Governance and Quality agenda within the Core Therapy Service.
  • To support equality of opportunity and access within the Core Therapy Service for both staff and patients.
  • To support financial and other resource management within the Core Therapy Service.
  • To provide and use information to support admin processes and patient care.
  • To directly support the delivery of therapy to patients.
