We are looking for an enthusiastic and flexible Band 3 administrator/supervisor to join our busy Women Health Outpatients Department.

The role will involve an extensive range of administration tasks to meet the needs of the unit.

You must be able to work independently and also collaboratively with key persons and departments with the aim to provide excellent service at all times.

An attitude of calmness and organisation is essential to the role.

The position in based in Basildon Hospital covering Gynaecology, Antenatal and Maternity clinics. There is an onsite, office based role only.

You will be provided necessary training required for your role.


You will work as a member of the multi-disciplinary team and will be responsible for providing high quality clerical and administrative service to Women's Health Unit.

The post holder will provide professional reception service to all visitors to Women's Health Unit.

You will supervise and support a team of 6 administrators, midwives, matrons and the junior service manager.

  • Cover the reception area and welcome all patients and visitors to the ward and respond to enquiries as they arise both in person and over the phone.
  • To maintain good communication and relationships with patients, midwives, administrators and all members of the multidisciplinary team (MDT).
  • To answer incoming telephone calls from patients transferring the call to the relevant department or dealing with query and supporting the patients.
  • Ensure that the all outcomes and maternity medway is up to date and correct at the times
  • Attend relevant meetings as directed by junior service manager or midwives
  • To engage with and support all women's health outpatients administrator, consultants, midwives, patients and junior service manager to ensure the smooth running of the unit.
  • To be familiar with aspects of a clinical
eception environment, to include fire exit points,emergency telephones and location of equipment and stores.

  • Ensure the outpatients area is kept clean and tidy
  • To deal with the registration and documentation of patients admitted to the clinic
  • Close, create, update and move clinics
