    I am excited to share an incredible opportunity for several full-time residential support workers to join Vetro Recruitment in supporting young people with autism and complex needs.

    Working in a unique and sustainable setting just outside Narberth, you will have the rewarding role of supporting young people to develop and become independent while watching them learn new skills. As a bonus, you will get to train in pottery, art, and woodwork skills.

    Key Details:

    • Salary: £24,665 - £28,367 per annum
    • Location: Narberth
    • Hours: 40 hours per week
    • Contract Type: Permanent
    • Shift Times: 8.30am - 4.30pm, 3.30pm - 10pm sleep 7.30am - 9am

    The Organisation:

    Vetro Recruitment is partnered with a charity that has been founded over thirty years ago. The organisation has grown its services within West Wales and provides students access to wool mills, acres of hillside woodlands, and a farm where students grow and sell bio-dynamic livestock and produce. The craft curriculum stems from the cultural history of the area, with sessions such as weaving and felting, green woodwork, animal husbandry, and metalwork in the Iron Age Forge.

    Responsibilities:

    • To encourage the young people to engage in activities and take responsibility for their own lives depending on their age.
    • To maintain the homely, friendly culture and environment of the homes.
    • To be able to manage challenging behaviours when needed.
    • To protect children and young people from risks to their health and welfare.
    • To provide support for the children and young people in the home and promote their independence and well-being.
    • To maintain a safe environment for young people.
    • To ensure the safety of the students and maintain an up-to-date knowledge of the individual's; care plan, guidelines, reward system, and preferred method of communication.
    • To support taxing behaviours safely and sympathetically.

    Requirements:

    • Experience working as an Adult Support Worker in a similar setting is desirable.
    • NVQ or QCF level 3 in Adult Social Care
    • A passion for supporting young people with a holistic approach.
    • You must be a driver as you may be required to travel between sites during shift
    • You must be over the age of 18
