Business Development Manager

Bridging Finance and Buy to Let Mortgages

North UK


We are pleased to be working with a well established lender, on their search for a BDM covering the north of the UK.

The overall responsibility of the role is focused on identifying, developing and managing relationships with mortgage intermediaries, professional introducers and direct applicants in order to originate new lending opportunities in line with company budgetsand growth plans


Responsibilities:


  • Origination of new accounts within bridging/development brokers & intermediaries, in addition to successfully maintaining key accounts within the business, this will be centred around postcode allocation.
  • Work collaboratively with the internal sales team to book and manage your own diary.
  • Complying with TCF and Responsible Lending policies.
  • Having a clear understanding of structuring loan facilities in line with company procedures & processes, ensuring suitability of the security and in turn delivering appropriate terms within an allotted time frame agreed. This will be done collaborativelywith the internal sales and underwriting teams.
  • Manage deal flow to maintain a strong sales pipeline in order to meet and exceed agreed targets.

Skills and experience:


  • Strong written and verbal communication
  • Proactive and able to work on your own initiative
  • Strong negotiation skills, ability to persuade others and handle objections
  • Technical ability to be able to facilitate and agree deals.
  • Good PC/keyboard skills as well as proficiency in Microsoft Office (to include Word, Excel and Outlook)
  • Proven achievement of meeting agreed sales targets within set timescales.
  • A strong knowledge of bridging finance and Development finance.
  • Experience in wider specialist finance market would be beneficial
  • Understanding of Treating Customers Fairly, Money Laundering, Data Protection, Responsible Lending, FCA regulation
