Thank you very much for your interest in our position of Tutor here at Heart of Birmingham Vocational College (we all like to call the college 'HBVC', it's so much easier to say).

This is a fantastic opportunity to join our successful Teaching and Learning team and contribute to our continued growth and success.

HBVC is an exciting and innovative college with a reputation for high-quality provision that is responsive to the needs of our learners.

Based in Birmingham, Edgbaston and Redditch, we specialise in providing excellent education and support to learners with diverse and additional needs.

We offer full-time Study Programmes that provide individualised learning experiences, whilst developing learner's key employability and supported living skills.

Our entire staff team are very passionate about making HBVC a great place for everyone to be and are committed to enabling learners to fulfil their aspirations.

We have a unique approach to ensuring everyone feels a part of our college which is reflected in our core values of Openness, Challenge, Excellence, Development and Inclusion.

We have made it our mission to provide an inspirational learning environment for person-centred vocational education in a community-based setting, enabling learners to achieve exceptional outcomes.

Our vision is to empower our learners to prepare themselves for the next stage of their adult lives by providing them with transferable skills that enable them to become purposeful independent individuals and to find their place in their community.

We first opened our doors in 2014 with 10 learners and 3 staff. Since then, we have successfully grown the college to what it is today, with 140 students and 85 staff.

We are an Ofsted rated 'Good' college and we are now looking for a Tutor to join our team and contribute towards our aim of achieving 'Outstanding' status.

As a Tutor you'll work alongside our team of tutors and report into our lead tutors.

You will teach a specific group of between 8 and 14 learners for hours per week, ensuring all lessons and activities are thoroughly planned in line with our bespoke curriculum (which we'll give you full training on).

You will deliver varied and interactive sessions to maximise learners' success and make a real impact on learner outcomes.

As you read this and consider whether this is the job for you, we would like to tell you a little about what it is like to work for HBVC.

Our vision, values and mission encompass the views of all staff working with us and are at the core of everything we all do.

We have a strong culture of high performance, continuous improvement, teamwork, and open communication.

In return for your hard work and dedication, we can promise an investment in you and your future, offering a competitive remuneration and benefits package and excellent professional development.
