JOB PURPOSE AND OBJECTIVES:

The Community Outreach Worker will be responsible for delivering a Community Support Programme consistent with the ethos, policies and objectives of Dovecote Children & Families project.

To work with the Children & Families Services Manager and Board of Trustees in developing a high quality community outreach strategy to meet the needs of vulnerable families, children and young people within the local community.


ACCOUNTABILITY:

The Community Outreach Worker will be responsible to the Children & Families Services Manager and Dovecote Voluntary Parent Board of Trustees.


DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Working with the Children & Families Manager to design and deliver a range of innovative community outreach and engagement activities to vulnerable families, children and young people in The Leys;
  • Developing and sustaining positive relationships with a range of people, including residents, community leaders, local groups and organisations, and local authorities;
  • Recruiting and supporting local people to become volunteers and active leaders in their community, and ensuring that they remain engaged and involved;
  • Publicising the Dovecote Children & Families project through flyers, posters, social media and networking with residents, local groups and organisations;
  • Working as part of a team to organise and hold events that draw in and involve local residents and partners;
  • Supporting facetoface, online and marketing activities;
  • Supporting the delivery and analysis of communitybased qualitative action research;
  • Attending meetings;
Any other duties are required by the line manager in line with the grade of the post.

Part-time


Salary:
£14.00 per hour
