The Georgeson team (as part of Computershare) is searching for a talented and motivated senior ESG professional to join our dynamic 11-member European Corporate Governance and ESG Advisory practice on a permanent basis.

We are looking for you to have experience in ESG or related fields, with a preference for those with a background in ESG investing, ESG research or in-house ESG strategy development, and possess a strong interest in how these issues affect companies and investors.

Our main geographical focus for this role is on the main European markets so some international exposure would be an advantage in this role.

A role you will love

Reporting to our Head of ESG (UK & Europe), the Environmental & Social Manager will be a key member of a Corporate Governance and ESG team which advises clients across the UK, Europe and parts of Asia.


Key Responsibilities:


  • A senior member of Georgeson's expanding ESG advisory services team, leading and supporting ESG advisory projects, strategy development and/or investor engagement campaigns;
  • Meeting with clients and prospective clients to deliver and discuss Georgeson's ESG advisory services;
  • Monitor ESG developments, both within issuer reporting and investor policies and practices;
  • Stay abreast of competitor practices and collaborate with the ESG advisory team to develop and execute on ESG products and services;
  • Working with Communications colleagues to develop ESG reporting and communication materials for clients;
  • Participate internally in work streams and projects to deepen Georgeson's role and reputation within the ESG landscape;
  • Serve as a key internal and external resource on ESG matters;
  • Willingness to represent Georgeson in key internal and external presentation and speaking opportunities;
  • Manage a team of E&S experts;
  • Some travel required, 20% when safe business travel resumes;

What will you bring to the role?

  • 5 to 10 years work experience in ESG or related fields, with a preference for those with a background in ESG investing, ESG research or inhouse ESG strategy development;
  • Demonstrated knowledge of ESG concepts and prior experience with one or more of the following: reporting frameworks, particularly SASB and TCFD; investor initiatives such as CERES, Climate Action 100+, the Human Capital Management Coalition; engagementwith ESG rating and data organizations such as MSCI, Sustainalytics, ISS, CDP; Sustainable financing matters such as ESG portfolio construction or issuance of green or rainbow bonds;
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively while pursuing organizational and team goals;
  • Strong project management skills;
  • Advanced degree helpful but not required;
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills with demonstrated experience presenting to large, highprofile audiences;
  • Attention to detail, demonstrate accuracy and thoroughness;
  • Ability to synthesize, process and communicate a large volume of information on a range of ESG issues;
  • Other native/fluent European language skills (ideally German or French)
  • Experience working in a client facing environment
