Operational Technology (OT) systems are deployed throughout Thames Water's geographical region, enabling the remote monitoring, control, and data acquisition of thousands of water and wastewater collection, treatment, and distribution assets, gathering datainsight from over 2.1 million data points.


About the role:


The Operational Technology Service Manager (Regional) will be responsible for leading a team of expert system engineers who support and maintain our Regional SCADA systems (GeoSCADA) for over 3000 of our remotely monitored water and waste assets across ThamesWater.

This team's goal is to provide a reliable, resilient, secure, and adaptable Regional SCADA system for our internal customers 24/7, so delivering and exceeding our customers' expectations is at the heart of what we do across the OT team.

You will be part of a wider OT Service Delivery team, reporting to the OT Senior Service Manager.

The key OT Service Manager (Regional) responsibilities include:

  • Ensuring the health, safety, and well-being of all members of the team is always the number one priority
  • Developing a highperforming, engaged team, with clear performances management, and development plans in place for each member
  • Managing the daytoday maintenance and support activities of the Regional SCADA service team to ensure systems are reliable, resilient, and secure, and any system changes are controlled
  • Monitoring the OT service desk for Regional SCADArelated customer requests to ensure they are completed within SLAs
  • Managing budget and supplier relationships to drive efficiencies and cost management, while also identifying areas of development and continuous improvement.

What does it take to be a successful OT Service Manager?:

  • Extensive technical experience in maintenance and / or delivery in SCADA/ICA areas
  • Experience in managing teams and/or project delivery
  • Excellent customer service & communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and experience in managing stakeholders
  • Experience of customer (internal & external) relationship management
  • Knowledge of the water industry, utilities sector or similar

Participation in a 24/7 Out of Hours Standby rota may be required after a suitable period of training and assessment.

If this is needed, you will receive an additional payment. A full UK Driving Licence is required.
