_ How does the Apprenticeship work?_

As an Apprentice, you will be employed, just like anyone else at the company, the difference is that you will be studying towards a qualification.


Any work that you are set within this session is then expected to be complete for the next month's session.

You will be given time each week to do this within your working day/week - so no homework This will all prepare you for your End Point Assessment (EPA) once you have completed all the learning required.

About the Employer:

Nottingham City General Practice Alliance (NCGPA) was formed in 2016. We are Nottingham City's first GP Federation, often referred to as NCGPA or the Alliance. Our members consist of NHS GP practices in Nottingham City, who cover a population of over 336,000 patients.

As a federation, we promote, support, and facilitate the collaboration of GPs and their workforce throughout our city.

Examples of our work to date include developing networks whereby tasks and resources can be shared, empowering frontline practice staff to become active sign posters for their patient communities and launching GP+, the city's first-ever evening and weekend GP service.


About the Role (Brief Overview):


A new role has been created to support the Practice Liaison Manager and Development Lead with efficient and effective administration support within Nottingham City General Practice Alliance.

Using their own initiative to manage their own workload, supporting a variety of different areas of the Alliance, including communications, project work and general administrative duties.


And Day to Day?.


You will be Responsible for:


  • Supporting the Practice Liaison Manager and Development Lead with effective and efficient administration
  • Supporting the Practice Liaison Manager and Development Lead with project work
  • Handling sensitive and confidential information, including data entry.
  • Undertake word processing tasks, using Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Supporting the maintenance of the premises portals.
  • Liaising with third party contractors to support the Facilities Officer.
  • Ad hoc covering of reception duties.
  • Supporting the Practice Managers with arranging the rotas and locum bookings.
  • Taking the minutes and arranging the agenda for Formal Practice Meetings.
  • General office management duties such as ordering stationary.
  • Diary management and arranging appointments and booking meeting rooms.
  • Supporting the HR Team to arrange mandatory training bookings for staff
