Your role

  • Do you want to work on of UBS's most ambitious and critical technology strategies? Do you have an eye for finding complex (or simple) solutions which have the potential to streamline our Cloud spend?
  • We are looking for a Lead Cloud Economist to:
  • understand the technical intricacies of Cloud efficiency tactics in order to socialise with confidence across the IB
- work with the other Cloud SMEs (architect / engineers) to identify and demonstrate Cloud efficiencies
- work with teams to elevate manual approaches to automated and ideally coded reusable modules
- work with teams to migrate manual solutions to automated tasks
- collaborate across the IB to ensure custom tactics that yield results are widely adopted and tracked
- you will also be the Cloud Economist for the Client Platforms Stream, supported by the Crew Cloud Economists
- understand/devise how to track and demonstrate planned vs actual savings achieved through the different tactics with our finance team
- influence and guide the Cloud Economist programme across the IB


Your team

  • You will be working within the IB Architecture team in the IB CTO Office of UBS Investment Bank and will have PMO support. We are a collaborative, global team who are dedicated to delivering highquality products to our customers using agile methods. You will focus on Cloud Economics, working with Cloud Economists, Architects, Engineers and Finance.

Your expertise
- a tech-savvy ambassador who understands the financial implications of a cloud strategy and how Azure services work
- an excellent communicator who can collaborate across the organisation
- experienced with cloud service reporting and financials, preferably Azure
- a committed self-starter, reliable, responsive, and motivated
- aware of on-going trends and know how to realise their benefits through your role
- able to take an idea, sense check and roll it out across a large organisation with limited oversight
- experience with Cloud economics and how to roll out cost saving initiatives to a large organisation
- a technical (ideally cloud) background that enables you to grasp and understand technical concepts which you can then speak to with confidence
- experience of working in large IT organisations and technology transformation programs
- able to influence decision making indirectly; putting together reasoned, evidenced arguments, publishing and communicating clear guidance, building trusted relationships.
