This is a real opportunity to step into that board-level position that you've been looking for. With full accountability for the NPD department and a multi-disciplined team of mechanical, electronic and software engineers.

It's a new role in the business,and they really need someone who can get their NPD department back on track and hitting their project deadlines.

You'll be joining an SME with a great brand in the market, who have an R&D budget that currently isn't being spent, so you'll have great foundationsto really make it work.


They have an exciting roadmap to deliver over the next 5 years, and achieving the deadlines is critical to this.

You will have been in a role where you've overseen NPI projects and have achieved deadlines.

We need someone who will be proactive and take actionto reduce possible risks to projects before they happen, rather than someone who will justify why the project is late.

It's an opportunity for you to put your stamp on this business. You'll need to be firm, have the gravitas to lead and invigorate the team.

Not in an arrogant or pushy way at all, but in a professional, I know how to deliver kind of way.


It'll be a balance of innovation and delivery: they operate in an exciting market, supplying to scientific equipment manufacturers as well as life sciences researchers.

You'll have a small team with the budget for additional headcount and be given freedomto implement rapid prototyping techniques.

We need someone who is used to building NPD project plans and delivering electro-mechanical projects in a deadline focused industry.

You will consider yourself to have strong skills in project management, and will also have:

  • At least 5 years' experience in successfully managing NPD projects, this can be in any technical engineering sector
  • ideally instrumentation or metrology based.
  • Expertise in planning, controlling and delivering NPD projects.
  • An understanding of mechanics or electromechanical equipment.
  • A proven track record of successfully working in a similar role.
