We have an exciting opportunity available, here at Barking and Dagenham College, for a
Lecturer - BTEC & Access to Science.


You will join us on a
full-time, permanent basis and in return, we will offer a competitive salary of £24,872 p.a.

- £43,440 p.a. incl London Weighting.


The purpose of the Lecturer - BTEC & Access to Science
role:
Teach and assess on one or more of the courses delivered, or serviced, by the curriculum area and contribute to the development of existing and new, innovative provision, including the implementation of motivational, flexible and blended learning and cost effective teaching and learning styles


As our Lecturer - BTEC & Access to Science, you
should have the following qualifications, skills and experience**:

  • Hold a level 3 teaching qualification or be working towards an FE teaching qualification
  • Experience in the 3 key areas of science, along with the relevant qualifications
  • Industry experience in the relevant areas
  • A TAQA 3/4 or A1/V1 assessor and IQA qualifications would be an advantage
**Key Responsibilities of our
Lecturer - BTEC & Access to Science;**- Complete the administrative work associated with teaching efficiently and effectively, including timely completion of registers (which are auditable documents and a requirement by law), lesson planning documentation, schemes and records of work, e-ILPs, learner tracking and monitoring documentation and various forms of learner progression sheets

  • Develop and implement learnercentred, learner assessment strategies in accordance with college policies (which place learners at the centre and emphasise the significance of constructive and developmental feedback for successful learning). Awarding Body assessment requirements must also be followed rigidly
  • Adopt a consistent and constructive approach in dealing with learner behaviour in accordance with the college's learner support and disciplinary policy
  • Undertake personal coaching / tutorial and pastoral responsibilities for designated learners in order to support learners in their own development and their future progression
