We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Lecturer or Senior Lecturer in Policing, to contribute to the delivery of our undergraduate Professional Policing programmes at Newman.

Based within the Department of Business, Law and Social Sciences, which is home to a range of programmes including Criminology and Law, you will play a key role in the delivery of the undergraduate policing courses, as well as contributing to research and public engagement activities.


You will need to draw on your operational policing experience within the UK, to teach across the policing curriculum, including mandatory modules, and will demonstrate a specialism in any area of policing practice.

You will design, plan and deliver innovative and engaging teaching and learning activity, select appropriate methods of assessment and feed back to learners, supervise student projects and support students.


You will work with colleagues from across the University to promote and grow the programme and to develop appropriate external partnerships.

You will enhance the reputation of Policing discipline by contributing to developing expertise and knowledge, supporting Departmental, Faculty and institutional initiatives.

You may on occasion, be required to work during the evening / weekends.
