Description

Our client is a leading developer of clean energy technology, enabling the world's most progressive companies to decarbonise at scale and pace.

Their technology includes fuel cells for power generation and electrolysers for green hydrogen.


The role will directly support the team in the development of its solid oxide technology through the planning, lay out, assembly and modification of test equipment by reading and interpreting engineering drawings and sketches.

Assisting Test Engineers inthe operation of the test equipment to obtain performance data and working to resolve problems such as equipment issues and malfunctions with bias towards electrical installations, circuits, and power distribution systems.


  • Installation and removal of test pieces from the Test Stands
  • Preparation of test pieces including the build of Test Platforms
  • Carry out build, modification and testing of electrical circuits and power distribution units Support wider team with electrical installations, including peer review designs and buddy checking completed works
  • Carry out preoperation checks on the test pieces and Test Stands
  • Operation of automated Test Stands
  • Work to ensure availability of Test Stands
  • Carry out and report scheduled Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) tasks on time
  • Carry out build and upgrade work on Test Stands including mechanical fitting and wiring
  • Work with team on continuous improvement activities
  • Fit and configure instrumentation to Test Stands and calibrate as required
  • Provide support to Senior Test Stand Specialist with stand configuration management
  • Generate and follow work instructions
  • Maintain critical spares Follow company safety standards and report safety issues
Knowledge and skills required

  • Experience of electrical installations and build of power distribution units.
  • Experience of completing mechanical and/or electrical works on equipment or systems in line with engineering documentation HNC level in Electrical/Electronic/Mechanical Engineering or similar.
  • Mechanical and electrical fitting skills
  • Competent user of MS Office packages
  • Ability to read diagrams and schematics (ideally electrical, electronic and P&ID)
  • Enthusiasm and drive to deliver on time
  • Organised and methodical, effective communicator, with ability to problem solve
