Your dream role

  • An exciting opportunity for a
    Quality Control Team Leader
  • Microbiology to join our team.
  • Manage our microbiology laboratories, delegating activities as necessary, whilst leading and developing the team.
  • Identify and support the training needs of all team members, ensuring training and competence of all team members carrying out microbiological activities.
  • Promote and support the continuous development of an enthusiastic and collaborative Microbiology team.
  • Ensure departmental scheduling is performed in a timely manner to support and align with production and release schedules.
  • Partner with the Head of Manufacturing Operations to ensure our clean room facilities are maintained in compliance with Annex
  • Support the risk assessment of manufacturing processes and partner with the Manufacturing Manager to ensure microbiological risks are managed appropriately.
  • Lead investigations on incidents of product contamination, or of abnormal levels of microorganisms in EM samples.
  • Review current regulatory requirements to ensure ongoing compliance, including contamination control strategies.
  • Support QC batch release of cellular therapy products by performing and coordinating QC batch release testing as required.
  • Complete and review GMP documentation within the QC department including, qualification/ validation, Incident Reports, Change Controls and Risk Assessments.
  • Support company growth by actively participating in the qualification of new facilities, whilst developing systems to support activities across multiple sites.

About you

  • An excellent understanding and proven track record of working effectively in a GMP Quality Control laboratory.
  • A technical background in Microbiology with experience in performing speciation of microorganisms to genus level.
  • Experience of leading, managing, and developing a team.
  • A positive team member, with a cando attitude and the ability to lead by example.
  • Experience of Environmental Monitoring of GMP clean rooms.
  • Other cell characterisation and safety assays experience.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong working relationships across various levels of seniority.
  • Competent in the use of Microsoft Office products such as Outlook and Excel.
  • Good organisational and planning skills with the ability to multitask in a fastpaced environment.
  • You will be able to create a positive environment through selfawareness and social skills.
  • Able to effectively manage and influence stakeholders' and customer expectations.
  • Excellent attention to detail with a real desire to continually develop and improve our processes.

Qualifications

  • A degree in Microbiology or similar field, or equivalent qualification and experience.
  • A postgraduate qualification is desirable.
