With our main depot in Colchester and a secondary depot in Warwickshire, we are a trusted name in the industry to supply quality materials at affordable prices.

We are seeking an experienced customs agent to join our team. Hybrid working is available for this position.

The main responsibilities of the role include:

  • Receive commercial invoice(s) and packing list(s) extracting data as necessary to complete import declarations.
  • Liaise with shipping lines and internal operational colleagues to obtain mandatory information for import entries.
  • Be fully conversant with import customs regulations, whilst keeping up to date with changes as they occur.
  • Ensure proper and accurate recordkeeping requirements are met in accordance with all import regulatory requirements.
  • Liaise with Port Health or Customs officials in areas such as document checks, goods quarantine etc.
  • Arrange VBS and restitution, ensuring that no rent or demurrage is incurred on any containers.
  • Work with both warehouse sites, ensuring that the relevant team members are aware of inbound movements.
  • Meet and exceed financial and operational metrics.

Requirements:


  • Minimum of three years experience of customs clearance.
  • Minimum of one year in transport management.

Details:
- £24,000 - £28,000 per annum, dependant on experience.

  • 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday.
  • Business hours 8am to 5pm (flexibility may be required).
  • Hybrid working available.
  • 28 days holiday (including bank holidays).
Must be eligible to work in the UK.
