Working hours:
Maximum 37 hours per week or part time my arrangement

Working pattern:
Maximum Monday to Friday or fewer days by arrangement, 52 weeks per year or Term Time only by arrangement

Full time starting salary:
£24,294 per annum

Location:
The Burgess Hill Academy and academy sites within West Sussex

  • Travel costs between The Burgess Hill Academy and other academy sites will be reimbursed_
We looking are for a
Facilities Assistant who is practical and enjoys working as part of a team.


You will be based at The Burgess Hill Academy and will travel to our academies within West Sussex to support the facilities teams in the day to day maintenance and servicing of the buildings and grounds.


Your days will include a variety of tasks, including:

  • Moving and setting up/dismantling equipment furniture and equipment for all ordinary and extraordinary events, such as school assemblies and Open days
  • Undertaking minor repairs and maintenance of the buildings and site
  • Receiving deliveries to the school site
  • Collecting and assembling waste for collection
  • Operating systems such as heating, cooling, lighting and security (including alarms)

We are looking for someone who:

  • Has a range of practical skills and able to use tools and equipment
  • 'handyperson'
  • Has an understanding of health and safety and adopts safe practices when working
  • Is a confident and clear communicator, who can build strong relationships with colleagues
  • Is wellorganised, resourceful, flexible, and able to think on their feet
  • Enjoys variety and new challenges each day
