£30,000 - £45,000 + Benefits


Responsible for the integrity of the Management and Accounting activities of the business, the Management Accountant will have accountability for providing financial analysis and reporting of the financial performance of allocated projects/business units.

They will also take ownership of the monitoring and reconciliation of various nominal codes.

Working closely with client facing teams ensuring delivery of projects within budget, as well as the quality and timely completion of project finance administration.


Responsibilities of a Management Accountant will include but are not limited to:

  • Responsibility for the financial management of projects.
  • Review project performance with internal departments and where necessary, proactively challenge the accuracy of monthly financial forecasts and results.
  • Prepare project performance metrics for senior management.
  • Liaise with project teams to ensure invoicing schedules are uptodate and raise/check invoices/credit notes, as appropriate.
  • Prepare budgets, forecasts, and financial analysis.
  • The design, development, and production of project financial information for inclusion in monthly management accounts.
  • Month end management accounts including delivery of month end close, ensuring integrity of postings and timely input of transactions as well as reconciliation of designated nominal accounts
  • Year end accounting and support.
  • Assist with the preparation of the Statutory reporting, and collation/completion of year end audit schedules
  • Adhoc tests/audits/reviews/projects on specific areas of concern or opportunity.
  • Involvement in budgeting and forecasting.

To be a successful Management Accountant, you must have:

  • Experience in preparing management accounting reports for cost/profit centres
  • Strong project accounting/reconciliation skills
  • Multicurrency business experience
  • Good command/knowledge of key financial accounts functions
  • Use to working in SME commercial environment
  • Strong excel spreadsheet skills
  • Able to work on own and as part of a small team, forming strong working relationships
  • Selfmotivated with good problemsolving skills
  • Able to work to tight deadlines
  • Ability to identify, predict and address issues in advance
  • GCSE's or equivalent (incl. Maths)
  • Qualified or partqualified ACCA or CIMA
