JOB SUMMARY

Could you make a real difference to patients and their families at the end of life?

You will be a dynamic, highly motivated individual who wants to make a difference both personally and professionally to patients who require palliative and end of life care.

This is a great opportunity to consider a career move into palliative care, as a supported induction and tailored development plan will enable you to gain the specialist skills required.

No previous palliative care experience is required.

You will be working as part of the multi-disciplinary team under the guidance of a registered nurse, giving holistic care to patients and their families.

The role is 'hands on' and considerable importance is placed on supporting the emotional needs of patients and their families, so good communication and personal skills are required.

You will be responsible for maintaining our Hospice ethos by ensuring that high quality, individualised, holistic care is provided to the patients and their families.

Excellent communication skills are required to ensure relevant and key information is shared with all staff involved in the care of patients.

You should be able to respond appropriately to emotionally challenging situations.
