Independent Forgings and Alloys (IFA) is one of the UK's leading independent aerospace and industrial forgers.

The unique feature about IFA is the combination of open and closed-die forging while also undertaking the whole production process from raw material to the finished product in one location.

Operating from a ft2 facility in Sheffield, we manufacture high-integrity, open-die and closed-die forged components in nickel alloy, titanium, stainless steel and carbon alloys for customers and tier-one suppliers within the aerospace, nuclear, power generation, marine as well as oil and gas sector.

Main Purpose of the Role

Reporting to the Production Control Manager, you will take information from the planning team and work together with the production managers to achieve the weekly and monthly plan.

Key Accountabilities

Managing and expediting subcontractors and orders from order receipt to dispatch.
Project management of orders for customers.
Feedback progress to business and management team.
Communicating with customers about jobs in progress.
Keeping the production units on track to hit the relevant KPI's.
Take reasonable care of own health and safety, and that of others who may be affected by their acts or omissions at work, cooperate with others in the company to fulfil our statutory duties and not interfere with, misuse or wilfully damage, anything provided in the interest of health and safety.

Skills and Experience

Essential:

IT literacy
Communication skills (spoken and written)
Numeracy skills.
Good planning and organisation skills.
Excellent communication skills to expediate work as needed for the customer.

Desirable:

Basic understanding of metallurgy or engineering

Qualifications

Essential:

2 A levels or equivalent
