Butler Rose are currently working with an exciting business who have an excellent brand image and a great reputation in the market.

They have a stable team and are only recruiting due to growth within their finance team.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an ambitious accountant who can play a significant role as part of the senior leadership team in driving through strategic commercial objectives.

This role will also fit with someone's appetite to progress in the business within 36 months.

We are currently recruiting for Commercial Controller ideally from supply-chain or manufacturing (this is an advantage and not essential). You will report directly to the UK Finance Manager in a varied role.

If you are someone who enjoys breaking down costs (including checking sales prices vs monthly price), looking for ways of increasing margins and preparing price models, adding value and happy to walk the shop floor always asking questions, this is the position for you.

Duties will involve but are not limited to budgeting and forecasting, variance analysis, preparing monthly reports, preparing monthly management accounts, preparing sales and margin analysis, working with all areas of the business to improve quality, productivity, efficiency, profitability initially through cost centre reporting.

You will have previous experience of monthly management accounts preparation in order to instantly add value in this role and will be competent in forecasting.

You will be qualified or close to completing your CIMA or ACCA exams.

Key skills required

At least 3 years Accounting Experience
Good analytical skills
Full appreciation of variable and fixed costs and margin analysis
Experience in preparing budgets and forecasts, and analysing variances against forecasts
Able to meet tight deadlines
Experience of report writing for management
Good communication and presentation skills.
Advanced Microsoft Excel (macros exposure will be an advantage)
SAP experience an advantage
Any knowledge of Sarbanes Oxley
