Description
(Please note the salary is Pro Rata) for part time hours.

The shift pattern for this post is Mon - Fri between 9am-5pm (Working Tues/Wed/Thurs is essential).

We are advertising a 0.7 WTE Consultant Clinical Psychologist post (Band 8C), to work flexibly across all local Learning Disability Services in Greater Glasgow and Clyde, including inpatient services.

This exciting post has been newly developed with a focus on increasing the capacity of the service to provide clinical supervision to trainee clinical psychologists from The University of Glasgow Doctorate course and is a great opportunity to use existing skills in supervision, service development and strategic decision making whilst shaping the training experience of the clinical
psychologists of the future.

Learning Disability Services across the Board area have a strong identity.

This post provides exciting prospects to develop networks between The University of Glasgow, local LD services, specialist LD Psychology departments and NES.

An ability to travel between teams will be required to build strong links between these partners.

This role would involve holding a small individual caseload plus direct supervision of trainees as well as liaison with Local Area Tutors to support innovative and sustainable placement planning.

The post-holder would also act as the link person between all Learning Disability supervisors in GGC and the University Supervisors Group and may be able to input and influence the content of the DClinPsy lectures as module co-ordinator.

They would also be involved in developing ideas for trainee SBEPs and research projects in collaboration with the
University of Glasgow.

The post-holder would require to work on a Tues, Wed and Thursday to correspond with trainee placement days, however the additional hours can be flexibly used.

The post requires significant clinical psychology practice experience in NHS or equivalent (ideally with significant experience within specialist learning disability services), supervised by a suitably qualified Clinical Psychologist.

Applicants should be registered with the Health and Care Professions Council.
