Description

We're looking to recruit an enthusiastic and highly motivated Healthcare Worker to work within Cancer Care as a Trainee Advanced Clinical Practitioner, where you will commence on an Masters level, University-accredited education pathway providing you with the knowledge and skills to provide advanced care to the patients who access the service.


The ACP's within Cancer Care work across the oncology and haematology wards and also within the Macmillan Acute Oncology Service providing prompt review of in patients and also clerking patients presenting to UHS for scheduled, unscheduled and emergency cancer care 24hrs a day, 7 days a week.

The team are also the primary providers of the Cancer Care Emergency Line which is fundamental to the delivery of the service.

The team work hand-in-hand with the medical teams across the care group to provide a dynamic, practitioner-led approach to care delivery.


The Cancer Care Advanced Clinical Practitioner training scheme commenced in 2014 and has been recognised for its innovative approach to care, winning a Health Education England Wessex Shine Award.

The Macmillan Acute Oncology Service also won the Macmillan Service Improvement Excellence Award in recognition of its positive impact on the quality of patient care.
