The Role:
To be accountable for the safe and efficient supervision of repair activities within the East Of England Gas Distribution network, ensuring these are carried our safely and efficiently and providing visible front-line engagement with field force, customers and key stakeholders to deliver the Cadent vision and culture and also Cadent's priorities of safety, compliance, customer, performance and efficient workload delivery.
Accountabilities of our Repair Supervisor will include:
- Be responsible for embedding a culture of Continuous Improvement within a team through the use of Performance Excellence implementing of visual performance management and problem-solving techniques.
- Supervise an effective and highly motivated regional workforce, driving performance excellence, delivering yearonyear cost efficiencies and improvements in productivity and resource utilisation whilst maintaining worldclass operational excellence, safety, and customer satisfaction.
- Carry out Repair Team workplace inspections to demonstrate compliance with the required standards/company procedures for dealing with Public Reported Escapes
- Ensure individuals comply with policy and work procedures and achieve company standards of service throughout all activities.
- Authorise and prepare permitry requirements in accordance with Safe control of Operations procedures. Holds both 'Authorising Engineer' and 'Competent Person' status as required.
- Manage sickness/absenteeism and low level disciplinary procedures for direct reports, to ensure compliance with company policy
- Act as the public face of Cadent Gas when responding to complaints and enquiries where required.
- Be responsible for ensuring data recording and accuracy within the relevant network is appropriate and complete to support accurate management and regulatory reporting.
- Monitor workforce operational performance to ensure all objectives are met and that problems are anticipated and resolved. Implement Performance Improvement Plans where required.
- Be Accountable for onsite incident supervision and investigation in adherence with EM72 and EM77 procedures in response to reports requiring escalation. i.e. Fire, Explosion, Suspected CO poisoning, Evacuation.
- Share, promote and facilitate/implement technical and procedural best practice.
- Ensure Repair Team emergency works are in full compliance with NRSWA.
What You'll Bring
We're looking for individuals who hold the following qualifications, skills and experience:
- Good understanding of relevant codes of practice, engineering instructions safety and statutory regulation.
- Strong understanding of HSE regulations relevant to role.
- Strong understanding of OSGEM
- Good understanding of emergency and repair work dispatch system.
- Strong understanding of NRSWA.
- Good understanding of Cadent planning / resource management
Qualifications;
- SCO 1,2,and 5 CP status
- NRSWA Supervisor certification
- Safety qualification (such as NEBOSH, IOSH Certificate)
- Full UK Drivers Licence
