This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Financial Controller who is seeking a hands-on role.

Based near Stowmarket, Suffolk this role will be office based and will require the successful Financial Controller to be responsible for two direct reportsoverseeing all financial aspects of the business and working closely with the Managing Director.


This is a hands-on role that will help drive the financial strategy and planning working towards profitability and long-term success.

The Role

  • Working closely with the Managing Director offering financial strategy and planning to the senior management team to drive business growth.
  • Responsibility for two direct reports including development, coaching and managing performance
  • Leading the finance function including accounting, controlling, business analysis, cash management and finance projects
  • Oversee all accounting and reporting activities
  • Preparing monthly balance sheets
  • Preparing monthly financial reporting within agreed time parameters
  • Run the monthly Payroll system for both Salaried and Hourly paid colleagues
  • Oversee coordination and in charge of relationship with independent accounting firms, statutory or contractual auditors and tax advisors.
  • Oversee implementation and maintenance of internal controls, financial confidentiality, compliance, and financial policies across the organisation.
  • Play a lead role in risk management for the business, which will involve collaboration with the business to define the risk strategies and ensure appropriate control frameworks are in place and operating effectively
  • Hold a relevant accounting qualification with at least 2 years PQE (ACCA, ACA or CIMA)
  • Offer at least 5 years' experience within a finance leadership role
  • Previous experience managing and leading a team
  • Experience within a multisite organisation
  • Proficient in the use of MS Office and financial management software (e.g., Access, Sage)
  • Offer a handson approach and a drive to progress
