About the role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Health and Safety Advisor to join our safety team to help promote a positive health and safety ethos and culture whilst onsite, whilst liaising with site managers, operatives and main contractors.

The position will split between office based work and also onsite projects covering England. Ideally you will be located close to either Scarborough or Durham areas where our offices are located.

Job description

Key responsibilities include:

Communicating and promoting a positive health and safety ethos and culture
Planning and carrying out site safety audits/inspections and updating systems with information promptly
Providing advisory support to operations teams with regards to HSE issues
Supporting SHEQ department with generation and administration of required documentation
Managing accident investigations and implementing corrective actions
Delivering safety inductions
Working with all levels to improve site safety
Ensuring that safety issues are addressed and communicated to other Safety Advisors, Supervisors and Project Managers as required
Planning, writing and communicating TBTs
Liaising with client HSE departments and operations as required
Ensuring the company remains compliant to current legislation

Key requirements include:

Valid CSCS Card

- excellent health and safety knowledge within the industry

NEBOSH qualification is essential
Excellent communication skills both written and verbal and good PC skills including Excel, Word and Outlook

Desirable:

Experience in structural steel erection, lifting operations
Knowledge of ISO 45001/ ISO 9001/ISO 14001

Hours of work will be Monday to Thursday 8am to 5pm, Friday 8am to 3.30pm

Some overnights stays may be required due to locations of sites (accommodation provided)

Company vehicle will be provided
