Hourly pay rate:
£34.20 Umbrella on Days - £40.65 Umbrella on Shifts

Shifts:
Mon to Fri. Days for maximum of 13 weeks and then onto Days and Nights

Hours per week:
Average 40-45 hours

Duration: 12 Months+

Client Summary:
Our client is a global leader in Rolling Stock vehicle manufacturing, service and maintenance.
Position Summary
Shorterm are currently looking for a number of experienced Production Managers for a number of roles in Manchester. Ideally we are looking for individuals with Rolling Stock experience from either an overhauls, maintenance or modification background.

Key Responsibilities of the role:

  • Responsible for the line management of staff
  • Responsible for ensuring the team understand KPI's and complete targets within allocated completion times as well as responsible for monitoring progress towards these targets
  • Responsible for identifying potential issues that will affect team performance and rectify as necessary
  • Managing tooling, consumables, etc. as agreed with depot managers
  • Responsible for monitoring time keeping of production team
  • Build relationships with team leaders
  • Managing health, safety and the environment of the depot
  • Allocating work and improving efficiency
  • Enthusiastic, keen to impress and progress
  • Identify and implement training where necessary

Person Profile/Experience:
Previous Rail experience is preferred but not essential. Ability to understand and deliver complex overhaul or modification schedules is a must.

  • Technical engineering background is essential for this role
  • Excellent people management experience
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing (5's, KPI's, etc.)
  • Experience of Health and Safety environments
  • Computer literate
  • Good communication skills
  • Experience working in a pressured production environment
  • Experience of Rolling stock is preferred however not essential

Qualifications:
A formal qualification is a must
