Empowering Learning are working with a welcoming secondary school that are currently recruiting for a dynamic Teaching Assistant to work with hard-to-reach young people across KS3 and KS4.

  • Friday, 08:30am 15:30pm, Term Time only

Salary:
£1,350-£1,600 per month

In a recent OFSTED report, the school was highly praised for the dedication to integrate children with challenging behaviour into school life in a positive and effective way.

Teachers are supported through a dedicated network of support staff to ensure all children are thriving and are happy in their school life.


The setting is a 5-minute walk from local public transport links and has a free onsite car park for teaching and support staff.

No specific qualifications are required for this role, however, experience with challenging behaviour is highly advantageous.

Knowledge of behaviour strategies will aide you in offering proactive routines to implement with the children to support them in the classroom.


Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Establish and promote positive relationships with young people and other members of staff/parents, acting as a role model and setting high expectations.
  • Assist the class teacher in preparing resources and setting out learning materials and equipment for planned activities.
  • Discuss with the class teacher the learning objectives and expected learning outcomes for each lesson or activity.
  • Assist in the educational and social development of pupils under direction and guidance of the head teacher, SENCO and class teacher.
  • Monitor the pupils' response to the learning activities and modify or adapt the activities to achieve progression towards the intended learning outcomes
  • Assist in the implementation of Individual Education Plans and monitor their progress.
  • Provide support and implement intervention programmes for students inside and outside the classroom to enable them to fully participate in activities
  • Promote the social and emotional development of young people.

Salary:
£1,350.00-£1,600.00 per month
