An excellent opportunity has arisen with City of York Council Building Services to join our planning team.


We are looking for someone with great organisational skills who will play a key role in the team helping to plan the daily work for the reactive maintenance of council housing stock and public buildings and schools.

Training will be provided to use our works management system.

This will include raising works orders, helping to manage the planned servicing and reactive repairs ensuring that jobs are completed within the allocated time scales.


You will also liaise with contractors, trades people as you deal with complex enquiries and raise works orders with the correct trade and agree appointments that suit the requirements of customers.

Some experience of the construction industry is preferred.

You will also have the ability to deliver a consistently positive customer experience.

Experience using Microsoft Office is essential.

The post holder will be expected to work from our Hazel Court office during the training period. Following this there will be the opportunity for some working from home arrangements in discussion with your line manager.

Each role at CYC is different and your working arrangements will be determined based on the requirements of the role and in collaboration with you and your needs as part of the recruitment process.

Your contractual location will be the designated council office for your team.
