Our communities are attracted by a mixture of excellent schools, relatively affordable housing, high-quality open space and rapid transport connections into the heart of the City.**Redbridge Youth Justice and Targeted Prevention Service (YJTPS) is a multi-agency partnership committed to preventing and reducing youth crime across the borough. We are looking for a committed, innovative, and enthusiastic Referral Order & Volunteer lead who will play a critical role in taking responsibility as referral order panel coordinator for facilitating referral order panels and coordinating volunteer panel members for the recruitment, training, management, supervision, and development of Referral Order volunteers. The postholder is responsible for our Referral Order guidance being accurate and processes being supportive to help Volunteers, practitioners and managers achieve the standards and expectations of operational Referral Order delivery.

The post also has 25% focus on practice.

You will have excellent communication and assessment skills; the ability to implement intervention plans making best use of appropriate and targeted resources; the organisational skills to undertake challenging work within tight deadlines and maintain up-to-date records in line with National and local Standards; knowledge of case management and the ability to work well under your own initiative and as part of a multi-agency Service.


You will need to have substantial post qualifying experience in a field related to Youth Justice, where you were involved directly in the provision of services to children in the criminal justice system.


The nature of the role means that flexible hours are needed including evening and weekend work to meet the needs of the children and victims of crime we work with, focusing on building positive professional working relationships to help facilitate and maintain change.

The role will require you to balance Child First methodology with public protection and understand restorative practice and contextual safeguarding.

We support our workers in their progression, affording opportunities to grow skill sets. Staff have regular supervision with their line manager and frequent professional development sessions.
