The client is a leading facilities management company with a large and diverse blue-chip customer base. With their own initiative to contribute to the UK's Net Zero commitments the client is now looking for a Senior Energy Contract Manager to join the Northampton team

What you'll be doing:

In this varied role you will be taking your passion for the energy sector and:
"¢ Managing existing customers maintaining strong working relationships. You will liaise with suppliers and internal teams as required acting as an extension to the customer's procurement and energy functions.
"¢ Negotiating with customers on products and pricing articulating best value for money solutions and providing sound reasoning behind each decision.
"¢ Maintaining your knowledge of the industry staying abreast of new and emerging sectoral developments.
"¢ Producing high quality written and numerical analysis of tender bid responses. You will maintain internal databases as required.
"¢ Running flexible gas and electricity contract procurement following the cycle from creation of tender specifications through to advertising tenders with suppliers managing bid responses analysing offers and negotiating re-bids.
"¢ Reviewing contracts to ensure they are in-line with all tender specifications and awarding contracts that reflect negotiated positions and are in-line with customer specifications.
"¢ On-boarding awarded contracts with all relevant internal and external personnel to ensure contracts are set up correctly. There will also be the requirement for general contract management to ensure suppliers are meeting awarded customer expectations.

What experience you'll need to apply:

"¢ A broad knowledge of how energy contracts are created and the charges within them.
"¢ Experience in energy procurement particularly within flexible energy contracts for gas and electricity.
"¢ Excellent written and spoken English being a confident communicator in person and over the phone. You will enjoy building relationships with new customers being happy to negotiate all aspects of product and price.
"¢ Excellent commercial awareness and the ability to recognise contractual risks.
"¢ A track record of producing written reports to evaluate bids drawing on the available information to identify logical and balanced recommendations.
