Job Summary:


Shift Pattern 554 / 12 hour shifts (5 days on - 5 days off - 4 days on)
We're looking for exceptional Workshop Controllers to join our fast growing team at Cazoo. Our Mission is to transform the way people buy used cars.

The main responsibility of the Workshop Controller is to liaise with the various departments within the Preparation Centre.

You will be ensuring the smooth and efficient flow of the workshop at all times, planning incoming work, assisting each area to optimise it's workflow so that jobs are ultimately managed and progressed to completion in a timely and efficient manner.


What you will be doing:


  • Evaluating the necessary route for vehicles into the workshop teams and distributing work to the correct department within the workshop
  • Distributing and controlling the allocation of jobs to the workshop team to maximise quality and overall efficiency.
  • Monitoring parts supply and expected arrival dates, reporting this into Senior Production Manager on a daily basis.
  • Monitoring completion dates and over age/late cases and update daily
  • Ensuring health checks are monitored on a daily basis and housekeeping carried out
  • Monitor of the workshop KPI's in particular days in stock and completion targets
  • Assisting Managers and Team Leaders in implementing and maintaining effective processes to ensure that all cars reach the Cazoo quality standards and that this is achieved in a timely manner.
  • Creating and maintaining professional relationships with all workshop Managers and Team Leaders.
  • Liaising with the logistics department to control vehicle movement into relevant areas.
  • Maintain a tidy and professional working environment, with a special emphasis on Health & Safety.

Key Skills Required:


  • Experience of working in a Motor Workshop environment
  • Excellent Communication Skills
  • Ability to work as Part of a Team
  • Adaptable to change and a high degree of flexibility
  • Problem solving with the ability to look at a range of options
  • Familiar with working with technology e.g tablets, smart phones etc
  • Proven organisational skills and ability to prioritise
  • Full driving licence required
  • Flexibility to work various hours and days on a rotational shift basis, including weekends and evenings.
