The opportunity
We are looking for a full-time machine operator to join our longstanding and dedicated team in our Trafford Park site.
The primary tasks and responsibilities of the role are as follows:
- Working on a variety of machinery primarily guillotines, ensuring the machines are working to capacity and maximising efficiency;
- Dependent on business needs there could be future opportunities to train/operate other machinery such as handfed platens, and automatic diecutting machines
- Ensuring production orders are completed on time and in full, whilst maintaining accurate stock control;
- Maintaining and monitoring machinery;
- Packing and bundling materials, including manual handling;
- Following our procedures
The person
In a nutshell, we are looking for a standards and results driven individual, who is capable of working in a multi-skilled position, as part of a small, but busy team, and who possesses:
- A good understanding of health and safety techniques;
- Excellent attention to detail;
- Team player behaviours (by this we mean someone who can be flexible with their time and tasks, and someone who enjoys working collaboratively); and,
- A proven track record of being reliable
Qualifications, licences, and skills
Essential
- Experience of working as a machine operator in a manufacturing environment
- Experience of operating cutting machines e.g. guillotines, handfed platens, or automatic diecutting machines
- Familiar with Safe Systems of Work
- Current forklift truck licence
