The opportunity

We are looking for a full-time machine operator to join our longstanding and dedicated team in our Trafford Park site.

The role is 37.5 hours per week.

The primary tasks and responsibilities of the role are as follows:

• Working on a variety of machinery primarily guillotines, ensuring the machines are working to capacity and maximising efficiency;
• Dependent on business needs there could be future opportunities to train/operate other machinery such as handfed platens, and automatic diecutting machines
• Ensuring production orders are completed on time and in full, whilst maintaining accurate stock control;
• Maintaining and monitoring machinery;
• Packing and bundling materials, including manual handling;
• Following our procedures

The person
In a nutshell, we are looking for a standards and results driven individual, who is capable of working in a multi-skilled position, as part of a small, but busy team, and who possesses:

• A good understanding of health and safety techniques;
• Excellent attention to detail;
• Team player behaviours (by this we mean someone who can be flexible with their time and tasks, and someone who enjoys working collaboratively); and,
• A proven track record of being reliable

Qualifications, licences, and skills
Essential

• Experience of working as a machine operator in a manufacturing environment

Desirable

• Experience of operating cutting machines e.g. guillotines, handfed platens, or automatic diecutting machines
• Familiar with Safe Systems of Work
• Current forklift truck licence
