Description
This postion is in Crawley, with Hybrid work locations.

  • Project Controls Manager / Head of PMO
  • Control Account Managers (CAMs), Work Package Managers (WPMs) & Project Management Team
  • Other interfacing business functions, including Engineering, Finance, Commercial, Quality, Health & Safety & Operations
  • Fellow Project Controllers across the Programme to coordinate updates, agree logic, agree timings for scheduling of Primavera and interrogation of critical paths and key schedule drivers.
  • Bids & Project Management (BPM) function (especially Project Management Office colleagues on other Projects).

KRA's Inlcuded but not limited to

  • Define, create and maintain through the change processes the key planning structures in the Project toolsets
  • WBS, OBS, CBS & Activity codes structures required to organize the project and configure reporting.
  • Manage the integrity of the integrated master schedule undertaking monthly schedule integrity checks and corrective measures to maintain schedule quality, implement metrics to monitor schedule movements and collate a schedule narrative that records changes, decisions and assumptions in month.
  • Review the overall critical path across the integrated set of bids / projects and reconcile issues, making recommendations to assist in the recovery of slippage, where applicable.
  • For areas of responsibility update the integrated schedule in accordance with the monthly business rhythm, establish objective progress, update dates & logic and analyze costs and resources to agree the best view of EAC with the Project Manager
  • Review and interpret cost and schedule performance metrics such as Earned Value data and provide variance narratives and recovery action recommendations to the CAM or Project Manager.
  • Prepare the required reporting materials for area of responsibility including variance analysis and explanation drawing on the project toolset generated data single source of truth.
  • Lead local Risk & Opportunity management reviews, including the assessment of risk and contingency in assurance reviews and activities.
  • Analyze resource profiles resulting from the monthly schedule update process to validate resource demand and make recommendations to reconcile resource supply anomalies to assure supply supports the demand.
  • Identify the need for and prepare requests for Baseline Changes on behalf of the CAMs, WPMs and PMs in accordance with the Change Management processes and rules and introduce approve changes in a controlled and auditable manner into the toolsets.

Skills:


Essential

  • Strong analytical ability and attention to detail to analyze and make sense of performance data in order to prepare narratives and recommend recovery actions
  • Ability to interpret project requirements and distil these into schedule and cost baselines with supporting statements of work in accordance with required processes.
  • Practical knowledge of planning for and working with Earned Value and understanding of where the data comes from and the metrics
  • The ability to provide accurate and up to date project control information to decisionmakers in the Project Management Team.
  • Ability to establish and meet deadlines, multitask and priorities and to coordinate the inputs of others to meet deadlines
  • Strong planning and delivery orientation
  • Contributes positively to a collaborative working environment
  • Excellent communication skills to convey planning information to a variety of stakeholders.

Salary:
£42,000.00-£45,000.00 per year


Schedule:

  • 8 hour shift

Supplemental pay types:

  • Yearly bonus

  • Crawley: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (preferred)

Experience:


  • Project management: 2 years (required)
