About the Role


The position is part of the international industrial research project, which focuses on tyre modelling and testing technologies considering temperature under different driving conditions for improving vehicle dynamic performance and the developed tyre models aiming to significantly increase the tyre limit boundary for the development of vehicle dynamic controller and advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS).

The project will have the opportunity to test the developed tyre model in a dedicated vehicle performance test area.

Working under the leadership of Dr Dong Zhang, you will be responsible for the day-to-day research tasks in accordance with the project plan


This will include:

  • Research on microscopic tyre thermodynamic mechanism and construction of constitutive model
  • Development of tyre dynamics model considering the influence of temperature
  • Development of intelligent parameter identification algorithms for tyre thermalmechanical coupling models
  • Participating in project meetings, presenting research findings, and contributing to project reports and publications.

About you


You will have a strong background in experimental testing, programming (MATLAB/SIMULINK) and control, and should have a PhD in a relevant discipline such as mechanical, automotive, or electrical/electronic engineering.

Also, experience in the automotive industry would preferred.
