We are seeking a

Commercial Insurance Underwriter internally referred to as our

P&C Underwriter which will include developing and quoting terms for Clements in-house Property and Casualty (P&C) Binders with Lloyd's of London. This will include negotiating prices, coverages, terms and conditions for all new business and renewals while actively identifying account rounding opportunities. This position will serve all offices at Clements Worldwide and be based out of our London office.


Salary Range:
£60K to £65K, Full-time - Salary


Hybrid Position:
Two days in our London office, three days fully remote


Before we go any further, we do have some deal-breakers


You must have:


  • 3+ years experience in Property and Casualty (P&C) Underwriting with Lloyd's or as a Coverholder for Lloyd's of London
- capacity to be in the London office two days a week or as needed
- legal right to work in the United Kingdom


It will be great if you happen to have these qualifications:

  • experience in Property underwriting under full underwriting authority
- proficiency with the underwriting process
- international risk experience
- negotiation, strong communication and time management skills
- bachelors degree or higher education


_ Essential Duties and Responsibilities (includes, but not limited to):_
- conduct underwriting for Property & Casualty (P&C) products such as International Property, Liability, Motor, Political Violence, and other products as added
- gather and analyze information used for products in Underwriting to make an informed decision to approve or reject insurance quote requests
- issue Risk Level Data reports and other reports as required by Lloyd's of London and other insurers
- conduct profitability analyses on products by employing risk selection and technical underwriting, all while maintaining a focus on achieving sustainable growth
- collaborate with other underwriters, operations, claims, marketing, and home office management as necessary and implement and manage effective pricing and rate strategies that will produce profitability, book growth, and successful producer relations
- work with internal Sales and Service team for insurance product training and growth focused initiatives
- follow established protocols and policies established by your department, Human Resources or any department in which guidelines must be met
- other duties and responsibilities maybe assigned depending on department need and growth
