Payroll Manager | £32,000 - £37,000 | Fixed Term | Greater Manchester

Castlefield Recruitment are currently working with a large public sector organisation in Manchester in order to recruit a Payroll Manager for an initial 6 month FTC.

This role offers up to 80% home working.

Duties will include:
Payroll

Ensuring that each stage of the payroll process complies with due processes and procedures and legislation
Paying all staff correctly, on a monthly basis
Ensuring that correct payments are made, and appropriate information is provided, to the company's pension schemes, HMRC and other statutory bodies
Providing advice and expertise in relation to PAYE and other areas to employees
Payroll control account reconciliations
Producing all company monthly reports for general ledger
Maintaining and improving current processes and procedures
Performing daily payroll department operations in the payroll assistant's absence

Person:

The successful Payroll Manager:

Experience of working within a busy payroll department
Have strong endtoend payroll experience
Have strong Excel and payroll system skills
Have strong knowledge of payroll legislation
Experience in the running of month end processes, payroll reports and preparing tax and NI payments.
Have previous experience within a payroll supervisory position
Have experience of reviewing payroll processes and suggesting improvements
