My client is seeking an experienced Private Sector Housing Officer who is able to carry out Part 1 assessments to justify any decisions made.

Making a difference to residents by assessing and advising them with your background knowledge on the Housing Act2004 and Environmental Protection Act 1990.

Strong knowledge of Housing legislation is expected for this position. The client understands the pressures of the role and will support all officers within a comfortable environment.


Duties Includes:


  • To assess housing conditions under part 1 assessments, giving advice and taking enforcement action when necessary
  • To process applicants for property licenses including inspection of housing conditions and assessments of management standards
  • Responsible for assessing and processing Disabled and Minor Adaptations Grants applicants, encouraging disabled residents to remain living independently, whilst monitoring adaptation work.
  • Carry out inspections under the provisions of the Housing act 2004 and Environmental Protection Act 1990
  • Draft schedules of works, notices and orders for enforcement in accordance with the Council's scheme of delegation.
  • Prepare detailed reports containing analysis of issues, proposals and recommendations for taking action
