We are looking to recruit into this key role to help deliver and drive forward our high-quality, customer focused operations team.


This role will work directly with the Head of Digital Service Delivery and other teams to provide the best outcomes for our patients.

This is a highly visible role working as a member of the Digital Service Delivery team.

You will be responsible for our Service Desk Team (Tech Bar) and our End User Technology Team (EUT), you will also work closely with other teams to ensure the services we deliver are high quality and fit for purpose.


You will be responsible for operationalising the strategic direction of IT service management (ITSM) methodology such as Incident, Problem and Change Management.

Also, for developing, delivering and monitoring a catalogue of services that put the customer first and lead on the service elements of the digital strategy.

Develop a culture that puts the patient at the heart of what we do. Ensure that continual service improvement mechanisms are in place so that we are learning and incrementally developing excellent services.

Work with the Christie Digital Programme to ensure projects are designed with the operational service in mind.


Responsible for leading a dynamic team of service managers and team leaders from the front, ensuring customer focus is at the heart of everything they do.


Be a technical advisory and accountable decision maker in conjunction with our Principal Technology Officer for End User Device systems such as Windows 10, Windows 11, Officer 365, Laptops, Desktops, Thin Clients, Virtual Desktops (VDI), Apple iOS Devices, SCCM, Intune, Printers, and VPN technologies.


Ownership and management of the Incident Management Process for all priorities including Major Incidents, along with Problem and Asset Management, ensuring its smooth functioning and that process improvements are continuously implemented to ITIL standards.

Ensuring that relevant service level agreements are set and achieved as defined.

The Christie Digital team is passionate about improving outcomes for our patients by digitally enabling clinical cancer services.

Delivery of our digital services are the mechanism for that improvement, making this role an exciting opportunity to really make a difference.

The Christie digital ambition over the next 5 years will:

  • Provide better use of digital solutions to improve the experience for both the staff and the patient experience.
  • Digital technologies to enhance the new outpatients' service and creating a seamless patient flow through the hospital from arrival to the clinic.
  • Provide an openEHR platform that supports the development of worldrenowned research and innovation.
  • Expand our digital services to support staff to deliver the high standards of care across a wider networked care model.
  • Delivery of a richer data model to capture the whole health record, to ensure better decisionmaking, efficient services and improve care across the Greater Manchester area.
  • Leverage the investment in a locally developed EHR based on openEHR standard


As a Trust we want to stay at the forefront of care through new technological advances including Proton Beam, Bio Medical Research and experimental cancer therapies.

As the Christie's Digital Service, we need to deliver the digital platforms to support these advances.


Digital Services is a dynamic service, and the right person will be motivated by the desire to design, improve and manage high quality digital services that ultimately ensure our patients get better treatment and better outcomes.

This role is very much key to the success of digital operational delivery, and the perception of Digital Services across the trust.

It is a highly visible role working as a member of the Digital Service Delivery management team.

You will be responsible for Operations and EUT teams and work closely with other teams to ensure the services we deliver are high quality and fit for purpose.
