Summary


The Associate Director Public Affairs and Communications UK&I is accountable for the development and implementation of an integrated communications, advocacy and health policy strategy to support the UK&I organisation.

The role will focus on leveraging public relations, advocacy and policy experience to strengthen the profile of Incyte UK&I and build key relationships with external stakeholders (i.e. media, patient advocates, caregivers and policy makers).

The role reporting directly to the General Manager UK&I and indirectly to Head of Public Affairs Region Europe, will work cross functionally within the UK as well as the Region.


Function Responsibilities


Develop and implement patient advocacy, health policy and communication strategies to help meet Incyte's objectives for its Oncology and Dermatology portfolio while strengthening the companies brand and reputation in the UK&I.


  • Collaborate cross functionally with Incyte teams and commissioned partners to develop and implement insight driven strategies (e.g. medical, market access, commercial, legal, compliance, regulatory as well as other regional and global public affairs colleagues)
  • Drive key brand, portfolio and corporate communication initiatives, engaging general, trade and online media as well as external stakeholders (i.e. physicians, patient organisations, caregivers, payers) as appropriate
  • Lead and manage the process for local market press releases and other communication materials in line with functional and regional policies and processes.
  • Exemplify and foster patientcentric culture within the organisation by bringing patients perspectives and understanding of the external healthcare environment to internal teams, aligning key interests between the company and patient organisations as well as managing productive and enduring relationships with those groups
  • Support the development and implementation of health policy and advocacyspecific initiatives and activities including:
  • Provide up-to-date insights on external developments, trends and dynamics in the healthcare policy environment and ensure these are reflected appropriately in local implementation plans
  • Develop and manage relationships and partnership programs that elevate Incyte's engagement with external stakeholders based on a shared interest of raising standards of care for patients in the therapeutic areas we work
  • Contribute to brand and corporate strategy and planning process, providing both patient and policy maker insights and perspectives to shape the plans
  • Strengthen and operationalize processes for patient organisation interactions and oversee the grants and donations process in the UK&I including tracking, reporting and budget management
  • Contribute positively to a strong culture of business integrity and ethics by acting within local, regional and global compliance and legal requirements and company policies

Requirements:


  • BA/BS Required. Advanced degree in science or business related field preferred
  • Demonstrable experience of developing and implementing strategies which have developed patient advocacy, public relations and government affairs/policy shaping


  • Office based

  • Leatherhead UK office (Hybrid working allowable)
  • Preferably has deep experience in Oncology and or Immunology
  • Proven track record in preparing for product launches and successful life cycle management
  • Proven track record in developing key external relationships from scratch and building lasting partnerships with stakeholders and organisations
  • Experience of UK HTA processes (NICE, SMC AWMSG)
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
  • Flexibility, diplomacy, and ability to manage expectations. Ability to build strong professional relationships internally and externally
  • Demonstrates and strong culture of business integrity and ethics
  • Language: fluent in English
  • Proficient in Outlook/Word/Excel/PowerPoint
