FEVACA is recruiting for a Senior Support Worker that can join our Quality, Assurance and Compliance team


Overview of the job:


  • As a QAC Peripatetic support Worker you will be supervised by the QAC team manager.
  • The QAC team member is a flexible peripatetic worker that you will be employed to work across all FEVACA services. As a QAC support worker you will be key in supporting the service and teams with inductions, trainings, completing auditing and actions plans to develop the service or cover for existing staff annual leave or last minute sickness.
  • The QAC Peripatetic Support Worker will be working across services where there is an identified need for support or assist with service improvement plan implementation. The role will operate from any one of FEVACA service.
  • The QAC Peripatetic Support Worker will be working as part of a reactive and preventative team, responsible for assessing, targeting and responding to the practice across the FEVACA services.
  • The QAC Peripatetic support work will have a flexible rota that is devised every two weeks with key points of intervention and support when working in FEVACA services; you will be key point in delivering and up the culture to FEVACA standards during moments of crisis.
  • They will be responsible for supporting the Social Worker or Deputy Manager / Registered Manager within each project, focusing on either the Education or Health service depending on the individual's specialism. They will provide appraisal and feedback to house managers regarding the practitioners and practice within the team.
  • The QAC team will support service development and complete internal audits and assessments to highlight where improvements are needed this includes information when staff require support and draw upon action plans to work with the team to improve overall standards within legislations framework and Fevaca policies.
  • The role will involve a combination of problem solving, monitoring and advisory support to the field team; you will be bringing your experience, knowledge and expertise to improve practice, performance and have an active role in auditing, monitoring and staff retention.
  • The QAC support team deliver a personalised service to young people, delivering daytoday interventions and building positive relationship.

Person Specification:


  • All applicants must be able to commit to 39 hours and up to 2 sleepins per week. Overtime opportunities are available however these are to be agreed upon between the employee and the business.
  • The usual shift are:
Supported Accommodation: 9am - 10pm & sleep in. (up to 2 sleeps per week)
Children Home: 8am-11pm & sleep in. (up to 2 periods of sleep per week)

  • Community services: hours are in line with client requirements.

Peripatetic Support Workers must be able to commit to traveling between different projects depending on the needs of the business.

Peripatetic Support Workers need to be flexible and commit to a two-weekly rota that includes covering last-minute sickness._**

Essential:


  • Positive and non Judgemental value base.

  • Working and experience in the area or relevant to children's social care.
  • Good understanding of Health and Safety, Safeguarding, Human Resources and Data protection legislative frameworks.
  • Full UK driving licence and access to a car. (driving to various projects across counties will be a requirement)
  • Be flexible and willing to work on a two weeks rota plan.
  • Complete direct work and shifts including sleep in's, weekends and bank holidays as allocated by the QAC manager and in line with service needs this includes responding to lastminute absences and sickness.
  • Knowledge of the Children Act, Leaving Care Act and subsequent guidance.
  • Ability to oversee and contribute to the management of the households.
