Join us as a Specialist Portfolio Management Pod Lead

  • In this prominent role, you'll work with stakeholders to build customer relationships and deliver bestinmarket customer experiences
  • As a key member of the pod leadership team covering the North, you'll be providing effective risk and portfolio management of a complex portfolio and deliver credit stewardship of debt solutions
  • You'll be able to really make this role your own, allowing excellent exposure for you and your work

What you'll do:


We'll look to you to deliver successful customer outcomes by providing pod leadership and effective risk and portfolio management for a complex set of customers.

You'll assume primary responsibility for all non-origination activities and actively manage the overall sector portfolio considering risks, capital allocation and other commercial factors.


You'll ensure strong leadership and management of the pod, creating an inclusive culture which actively promotes diversity and where team members are developed to achieve their highest potential.


Your other responsibilities will include:

  • Performing bestinclass credit stewardship, transaction management and the endtoend credit process to deliver excellent customer service
  • Managing, coaching and developing your own team, setting stretching objectives, managing performance and coaching them in managing their portfolios
  • Implementing and reinforcing a culture of risk awareness and management within the team, identifying and proactively managing risks including problem loads and data quality
  • Driving the delivery of financial metrics while minimising incidences of bad debts
  • Maintaining strong working relationships with key stakeholders to ensure a seamless customer experience

The skills you'll need:


To excel in this role, you'll need a Chartered Banker diploma in Lending Skills together with broad experience of the banking industry, including the regulatory and commercial environment.

You'll have good credit skills suitable for the stewardship of appropriate specialist portfolio management customer exposures, along with extensive customer and sector specialism knowledge.


We'll also want to see:

  • Excellent people leadership skills and the ability to deliver results through others
  • Experience of relevant legal policies, regulatory and statutory obligations and risk management
  • Experience of analysing complex financial information and identifying appropriate solutions
  • A strong internal and external stakeholder network with excellent communication and interpersonal skills
