An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our team. We're looking for a
Production and Operations Trainee to work within our production and operations teams.

The role is very much based around being a team player with a flexible attitude and a willingness to learn.

The key functions will be to assist and support the production, operations and purchasing teams with experience and learning opportunities available in each to allow you to put your skills into practice.


The Role:


  • This role is open to applicants who are able to work in the UK and is based at our modern factory facility in Petersfield, Hampshire.
  • You'll be working Monday
  • Wednesday 7am5pm and Thursday, 7am4.30pm as part of the production and operations teams.
  • You'll have on the job training with support from key members of the Production and Operations teams to ensure you have all the knowledge you need to succeed.

You will be / have:


  • An enthusiastic individual who is wellorganised and has the ability to prioritise and organise their workload, and is keen to increase their knowledge and develop new skills.
  • Good manual dexterity, and good attention to detail, both written and verbal, with good analytical skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including fluent English, with the ability to work as part of a team or independently as required, and able to liaise with staff at all levels.
  • Selfmotivated with the ability to work on own without supervision and to work to deadlines.
  • Reliable, punctual and flexible attitude to work and willing to turn your hand to other tasks as required by the business.
  • Computer literate and keen to learn new skills and increase knowledge.
  • Strong understanding of the importance of quality and health and safety in the workplace, working to quality, health and safety and Company procedures and processes.
  • Flexible, with the ability to adapt to changing priorities and work as required by the Company to meet customer requirements and, to work in all departments as and when required to fulfil business needs.
  • The right to work in the UK.

Your Qualifications:


  • 5 GCSEs grades A*C/94 or equivalent (including English Language and Maths).

You will gain experience in:


Production:


  • Populating and soldering PCBs and components.
  • Hand crimping and building of cable and loom assemblies.
  • Mechanical assembly of components, fixings and subassemblies.
  • Pretesting of components, PCBs and subassemblies.
  • Mechanical assembly of components, PCBs and products.
  • Learning to read technical drawings and following assembly instructions.
  • Supporting R&D with new product development and prototypes as required.

Operations:


  • Provide support to purchasing.
  • Raise purchase orders.
  • Communicate with suppliers and expediate purchase orders.
  • Check and review stock availability, undertake stock check and counts.
  • Use of inventory management system.
  • Organise maintenance / repair contractors.
  • Help to source suppliers.
  • Stock management and quality control, processes and systems.
