ROLE - Design Engineer

SALARY - £32,000- £35,000 per annum (dependent on experience)

TYPE - Permanent

LOCATION - Northwest London
My client provides bespoke structural and electromechanical engineering solutions for manufacture.

They are looking for a Design Engineer to join their team in the Northwest London area on a permanent basis.


The Design Engineer will ideally have the following attributes:

  • Experienced working in a similar industrial design / development role within a manufacturing environment
  • HNC / HND / BTEC / NVQ / Degree qualified in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering / Engineering Design or similar
  • Proficient with using ideally Inventor or SolidWorks software for design
  • Knowledge of sheet metal and fabricated metal parts
  • Confident knowledge of structural disciplines
  • Able to manage projects and work to deadlines and budgets
  • Experienced designing products from concept to production
  • Able to maintain technical documentation and BOM entry
  • Knowledge of different materials such as sheet metal fabrication
  • Innovative and passionate about design
  • Be technically minded with a head for problem solving
  • Able to work well individually as well as part of a team

The Design Engineer role will involve:

  • Being responsible for the design and development of various products and structures
  • Using Inventor and AutoCAD software for design on a daytoday basis
  • Developing ideas from concept to production
  • Creating models/prototypes
  • Liaising with clients and developing solutions
  • Collaborating with different departments to ensure the smooth delivery of projects
  • Maintaining technical drawings and documentation
  • Providing technical guidance and support
  • Supporting product Testing, Verification & Validation
