BAMs UK&I Shared Services Finance team are looking for a Finance Administrator to join the team.

As a Finance Administrator you will be an integral part of the transactions team, interacting with colleagues in Finance and the wider business.

Reporting to the FSS Special Projects Manager.


This is a full time role and will involve a mixture of working from home, on site at any of our Site solutions sites in Wellingbourough, Eastleigh or Kilsyth.

Your mission

  • Work closely in a small team with a significant high volume of transactions, must be focused on delivery.
  • Engage closely with all stakeholders most notably Procurement and Commercial in order to pay material suppliers promptly and accurately.
  • Validate invoice header data to check for correct PO number, VAT, Company Name and all other data agree to the invoice image. Identify duplicates, organise corrections and coordinate the provision of credit notes.
  • Validate the system generated PO lines matched to the invoice and transfer ready for payment through Rental Results.
  • Proactively and efficiently dealing with high volume supplier queries.
  • Team mailbox management and the forwarding of PDF invoices to the OCR system
  • Set up vendors and administer changes.
  • Assist with ad hoc department projects as required.
  • Supplier statement reconciliations

Who are we looking for?
Ideally you would have worked within the construction industry.

You have had some experience with working in an accounts department and have strong administrative skills, with the emphasis on accuracy rather than speed.

You should have strong communication skills to be able to liaise with other departments/clients in a professional manner at all levels and most important, be an enthusiastic team player who takes pride in the work.

Knowledge of Plant Hire, CIS and VAT is preferable.

It should be noted that the above information is not comprehensive and that other responsibilities or duties that are considered to fall within the remit of the Finance Administrator - Site Solutions post will arise from time to time.


  • Knowledge of Rental Results processing system advantageous.
  • Experience of working in a high volume, fast paced environment.
  • Ability to pay attention to detail to ensure accurate data entry and accurate checking of all payments.
  • Good excel skills.
  • Ideally studying for an accounting qualification.
  • Proactive approach to problems the ability to spot potential errors and resolve.
  • Inquisitive and possess a can do attitude.
  • Ability to build good working relationships with both external suppliers and internal customers.
  • Ability to work to strict deadlines and ensure deadlines are met.
  • Ability to make decisions about referring potential problems to the Manager.
  • First class written and oral communication skills.
