Creative Therapist - Southampton, United Kingdom - Southern Health NHS Foundation Trust
Description
An exciting opportunity has arisen within Specialist Services to appoint a Band 6 Music Therapist at Bluebird House. The role will be 0.4 wte (2 days) until the end of March 2024.
The postholder will work alongside other psychological therapy colleagues (psychologists and psychological therapists, drama therapist and family therapists) and a comprehensive multi-disciplinary team.
The therapist will provide individual and group work within the unit and work with other members of the MDT in promoting a psychologically informed environment.
Bluebird House has a psychologically informed model of care based on attachment and trauma theory.
Bluebird House is a specialist, medium secure mental health inpatient unit that helps young people, both male and female ages 12-18 years.
Young people using the service have complex mental health problems which mean they pose a risk to themselves or others.
This is an excellent opportunity for a newly qualified therapist wishing to develop their existing skillset or gain experience in unique and varied setting.
You will need to be a confident practitioner, ideally with experience in inpatient or CAMHS, and be adaptable to ever changing needs and pressures.
Whilst the service is fully supportive of all creative therapies, in this instance Music Therapy is being requested to create continuity with the substantive service.
