Part time
Description
Are you looking for a part time role without compromising on the impact you can have through your work?

We are offering part time contracts from 20 hours per week to be an integral part of our team.

Working across 1-2 long shift or 2-3 shorter shifts per week, you will be a valued and important member of our team whilst also having time to manage your other commitments be it studying, family or hobbies.

YMCA Robin Hood Group runs not-for-profit homes for children aged 5-17 years old providing them with a safe, loving, nurturing homes.

We are recruiting for our Newark house that our wonderful children call home.

As a Residential Therapeutic Care Worker, you will work really closely with these children supporting them in every aspect of their life; getting ready for school, playing games, planning weekend activities and holidays, homework, cooking, cleaning and washing everything you would do in your own home and for your own children as a parent.

But we are not your typical Childrens Care Home; we follow a trauma-informed therapeutic care model.

By following this model, you are giving the children the very best opportunity to thrive in life and have positive outcomes.

We will fully train you in our therapeutic care model so you are able to follow these principles in all work you do with the children and young people.

Whether the child is in crisis and at risk of harm or having a reflective conversation on the sofa, you will have all the tools you require to be able to listen without judgement, show empathy and offer support and practical ways to regulate behaviour and if needed, be confident in techniques to reduce harm to them, your colleagues and the home.

We dont work on consequences or punishments, instead we work on positive reinforcement, restorative justice and working closely with the children so they feel safe and supported even at times of crisis.

The growth and development you will see in the children and young people in the home is outstanding; you will be able to see the tangible differences you have made to them, built a trusting, nurturing and genuine relationship with them.

The leadership you will receive from the Home Manager is also outstanding with all our homes receiving a minimum of Good Ofsted rating with Outstanding in Leaderships in many of our homes.

Our Managers are hands on and lead by example, work alongside the rest of the team, advocate for our children and support their teams like they were family.

Working on a rotating shift pattern, you will work from 23 hours per week* including a 30 mins paid break.

As to be expected, the home needs cover 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year so your shifts may include early starts, late finishes and over nights; we pay £45 per sleep in.

You will be working as part of a staff team within the home but also as part of the wider Residential Care team where you will work collaboratively across the different homes providing cover and support when needed; our whole-team approach means you broaden your experiences within different homes, build more relationships as you work with different people on shift and learn from all the subtle differences each home presents.

We are all driven by our desire to make a difference to children who have experienced things no child should ever experience.
