Accounts Assistant
Location - Blackburn
Salary - £25,000- £27,000

Simpson Judge are working for a group who invest in a diverse range of vehicles, including other businesses, property and financial assets, this private family organisation based in Blackburn are growing their small team and require an Accounts Assistant tohelp manage company invoices and banking across the entire group of companies.


Responsibilities:


  • Ensure all purchase invoices are approved in line with company procedure
  • Check and process all purchase invoices onto the company software
  • Manage and track the utility bills and business rate/council tax for empty properties
  • Assist the Management Accountant with monitoring the service charges
  • Prepare month end journals for the Management Accountant to review
  • Prepare the Sales invoices for rental and service charges for the group
  • Obtain supplier statements and reconcile purchase ledger
  • Daily bank reconciliations
  • Produce weekly creditor reports and propose invoices for payment.
  • Upload the weekly payments onto the banking system
  • Review the business expenses & obtain approval
  • Check and post all credit card expenses
  • Assist in the commercial rent collection for assets
  • Work closely with the property managers to ensure rental and expenses are monitored and up to date
  • At least 3 years relevant experience required
  • AAT qualified or studying for CIMA/ACCA
  • Accountancy software experience such as Xero, Sage, ERP etc required.
  • Wellpresented, with excellent communication skills; both verbal and written
  • Extremely confidential and trustworthy nature
  • Competent skills using MS Excel and Word
  • Great attention to detail and able to prioritise
  • Team player with a friendly, approachable attitude.
