Higher Level Teaching Assistant


Milk Education are seeking to appoint a Higher Level Teaching Assistant to work with three pupils who have Autism, complex learning difficulties and communication challenges to work at a specialist SEND Secondary School in Morpeth from January 2023 untilJuly 2023.


The specialist school is a community special school that caters for pupils aged 2 to 19 with a wide range of special educational needs.

The school offers a specialised learning environment to support the additional requirements of our pupils.

The successfulHigher Level Teaching Assistant will be expected to undertake all activities as required during their time at the school and be able to work as part of a team as well as be able to use initiative.


If successful, your role as a Higher Level Teaching Assistant will be to work under the guidance of teaching and senior staff to support access to learning and provide 1:1 support.

Work may be carried out in the classroom or outside the normal teaching area,which may include swimming, riding, or sporting activities for the disabled, etc.


  • Experienced in planning and delivering teaching and learning activities for classes
  • Flexible, motivated, supportive and enthusiastic
  • Have the skills and commitment to improve outcomes for all students in our school
  • Able to work effectively within a team
  • Able to relate to a wide range of abilities
  • Qualified to NVQ Level 3 or above in a relevant discipline
  • To have or be willing to undertake the HLTA qualification
